“Sometimes our troubles make us hit rock bottom but rock bottom is probably the most excellent on which to build.”
- Karen Otis

This week’s episode is an interesting concept brought to us by a tenacious woman. Karen Otis is using her passion and skills for architecture to help design and improve her client’s lives.

Many years ago, Karen had her life fall apart around her when she discovered the infidelity of her then-husband. Instead of allowing herself to wallow forever, Karen took the time she needed to grieve and then demanded a better life. By using what she has termed the “architectural method”, Karen helped herself, and in turn continues to help others, go through the steps to a successful business and love life similarly to how one would go about building a solid home.

Karen’s journey to rebuilding the epic life she always dreamed for herself has not been easy. It has, however, been worth it. Take a listen to her story and tips she includes throughout the episode to help someone else who may be going through something similar.

In this interview, Karen Otis discusses:
  • Some of the parallels between architecture and life. [2:50]
  • How she applied the architectural method help get her life back on track. [7:11]
  • Relearning how to trust others. [11:20]
  • How her situation affected her children. [13:28]
  • A tip on how to pick yourself up from rock bottom and begin designing the life you want. [15:54]
  • How she changed her routine and habits to better impact her new life. [22:56]
  • The difference between mind chatter vs. intuitive voice. [23:45]
  • A piece of advice she’s received that has changed her life. [26:21]
  • The gift she wants to give the listeners. [28:15]
