“I find too many people these days are putting themselves back, second or last even and they don’t really know how to speak up... Which is, I find, everybody’s good right… to create a life that’s meaningful and joyful to them.”
 Monika Becker

So often I see people burn themselves out by continuously giving and never thinking about their own self care. It has even gotten to a point where I’ve heard some people say that self care equates to being selfish. This is far from reality and my guest this week is here to help explain.

Monika Becker spends her time aiding clients to grasp and implement what she calls “good selfishness”. We discuss this notion further on top of how we as a society have gotten to the point where so many of us are blindsided to the idea of prioritizing our own self care .

I know this topic effects a lot of people, specifically a lot of women I know. I would highly recommend taking some time to listen to what Monika has to say.

During the episode, Monika Becker and I discuss:

  • What exactly is “Good Selfishness" .[1:29]

  • How to balance good and bad selfishness. [4:25]

  • Why she chose to address selfishness out of all the areas to talk about. [7:46]

  • What leads us to give to the point of burn out? [10:40]

  • The different levels of selflessness when it comes to women and men. [13:02]

  • If there is a difference of selfishness when it comes to generations. [14:27]

  • A good selfish self care tip. [16:56]

  • What she helps her clients find. [22:18]

  • How to find direction with purpose. [24:05]
