"There is a bit of stigma and taboo still out there.
More and more adults that are finding about their ADHD either speak up or
they really need to sit with it because they need to go through that acceptance phase."
Empowered by her diagnosis of adult ADHD, Cathy Rashidian has embraced the opportunity to devise and pursue a new strategy life. That’s Cathy. At 11, she learned to speak English fluently after her family moved to Canada from Iran in 1989. At 35, diagnosed with stage II Hodgkin’s lymphoma, she stayed focused that she wouldn’t need radiation after chemotherapy, and she was right — and is cancer free.

At 42, diagnosed with ADHD after her sleep-deprived push to be the perfect new mother and corporate executive drove her to the tipping point, she eventually realized ADHD also is a blessing. It helped her create solutions, see opportunities and inspire her success, now and in the future.

Cathy left a 20-year career as a Digital Marketing Executive to help others shed the stigma and embrace the gift of adult ADHD. She became a certified professional coach through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching and established ReadySetChoose.com. As a transformation coach, Cathy supports entrepreneurs and business professionals through transitions in life after being diagnosed with ADHD. She continues to enhance her coaching skills and knowledge of ADHD through attending ADD Academy, top International ADHD Coaching Academy.

A powerful speaker with an inspirational story, Cathy talks to businesses and other organizations about the payoff in hiring gifted professionals with ADHD. These are often visionaries who think out of the box. Sir Richard Branson (Virgin Airlines) has ADHD. So do Ingvar Kamprad (Ikea) and David Neeleman (JetBlue Airways). A company that truly believes in diversity will see a brain wired differently as a brain wired creatively, and a great agent of change. Surround such innovators with the right complementary team, and a company can take off.
